The first open meeting of the Regional Rowing Council of 2023 will be held at 7pm on 4th May 2023 at Goldie Boathouse, Beaulands Close, Cambridge, CB4 1JA. This will be a ‘hybrid’ meeting and details of how to apply for a link can be found at the bottom of this page.
The meeting will be attended by Alastair Marks, Chief Executive Officer of British Rowing and we will discuss a wide range of issues of issues affecting the region and rowing more broadly.
It would be especially important to hear from those clubs who responded to the BR consultation on the Sport England document but all clubs, and individual rowers who wish to contribute to the development of rowing regionally and nationally should consider attending.
We shall be discussing youth and adaptive rowing, inclusion and diversity and coaching for performance – the Agenda is here.
The Region is still looking for a person to fill the important role of Regional Representative. This is an opportunity to become a link between rowers, clubs and the National Governing Body, to shape and help deliver the strategy of the Region, as well as hold the Board of British Rowing to account. A description of the role is available here and a nomination form here.
If you are unable to be there in person but wish to attend virtually please contact Andrew Blit, Regional Secretary for a link.
