Head of the East 2022

Head of the East 2022

4th March – HotE 2022 CANCELLED

Following a review of river conditions at St.Neots, taking into account water levels upstream and the further rain forecast we have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the event.

The principal concerns are for the flow of water in the marshalling areas causing an unacceptable risk for our lovely entrants. We will make a full refund to those entering.

It is a great shame that we cannot put on the race – we were very much looking forward to hosting all of your crews – but safety trumps all. We do intend to run next year and hope to see you then, if not on the circuit this summer.

1st March – Draw, Competitor Instructions, Safety documents and parking info now available.

We are very much looking forward to seeing many friends and making many new ones on Sunday

Thanks to our first class team, the Draw is now available. Please see links below for critical information with regard to parking, boating, safety on and off the water and Covid guidance.

After a short hiatus the Head of the East is BACK. In association, and with the generous help of St.Neots RC this year’s event will be held on 6th March on the Great Ouse and BROE is now open for entries.

The 2,200 metre course comes at an ideal moment for those looking for a ‘sharpener’ before the big Tideway heads or as part of your tapering regime for the imminent regatta season. Or you might want friendly competition in a delightful setting.

The 1,200 metre race is there for those who have come to the sport in recent months and who now want to dip their toes in the competitive waters. We hope your learn-to-row graduates will enjoy meeting and racing each other.

For full details of events offered, in which divisions and how to enter please see the Notice of Competition here

** BREACKING** Please note that it is not possible to race in BOTH Divisions 4 AND 5

We very much look forward to seeing you on March 6th
