This was the 5th bi-annual Sharing Good Practice Conference brought to you by the Eastern Region Rowing Council. Over 50 coaches enjoyed a full day of both practical and theoretical coaching practice, including:
Power8 Sprints with Nigel Weare and Andrew Blit. A fascinating talk about this years journey to Bristol, the new type of rowing athlete we need and what the future has in store for future Power8’s.
Practical Coaching with Steve Gunn, BR World Class Start Manager. A great insight into how to coach athletes and how to let them coach themselves!
Taking Care of your Athletes with Perse Wynn, covering everything from cleanliness to hydration.
Practical sessions in the gym with Steve Gunn and Peter Lee (Br World Class Start Coach) and how to use Coaching as a tool for social change with Miki Lee Dale (Community Learning & Development Coach, Clydesdale ARC).
Delegates were able to enjoy the facilities and parking at the Cambridge University Sports Centre, were well fed and left with an ERRC Goody Bag.
Delegates comments:
‘I don’t think you could possibly improve the day’, ‘this was the best I have been to’, ‘a brilliant day, thank you’. Overall delegates thought that the day was great value for money and extremely useful and have provided lots of ideas for future content.
