The 2026 Eastern Region Umpires’ Seminar was held on 31st March at St.Neots Rowing Club to whom many thanks.
David Porter gave a presentation on news from British Rowing, the structure of the RUC and on the ‘champions’ that the RUC had chosen for various areas of Umpiring. The presentation can be downloaded from this link. N.B. this now includes a list of changes to the rules of racing from 2024-25.
Further presentations were then given on the start (Andrew Blit), when to warn (Gavin Dods), the role of the Co-ordinating Umpire (Sarah Leatham and Ian Donald), and dealing with appeals (David again).
