First Aid Course

First Aid Course – essential qualification

The ERRC are pleased to be able to offer the above course which is recognsied by British Rowing and meets requirements for Level 2 coaches’ first aid certificates.  The course is being subsided by the ERRC and priority will be given to voluntary Level 2 coaches whose first aid certificates have expired, Eastern Region Umpires, voluntary coaches booked onto a Level 2 course in 2026, regular volunteers put forward by their club, ANY British Rowing members in Eastern Region clubs.

What is covered:  The course covered principles of First Aid, the unconscious casualty, recovery position, life support (CPR including AED), choking, control of bleeding and shock, head injury, cold water immersion (CWS, dry drowning & secondary drowning, swim failure, hypothermia), sprains, strains, fractures, burns & scalds, heart attack & stroke.

Details: There will be 4 x courses held in two venues – an AM course starting at 10am, a PM course starting at 1.30pm.  Maximum participants per course is 12.  Priority will be given to those as above.

21 March 2026: Lea Rowing Club, The Lodge, The Boathouse, Spring Hill, Clapton, London E5 9BL

22 March 2026: St Neot’s Rowing Club, The Priory, Priory Lane, St Neot’s PE19 2PZ

This is a 3 hour course – you’ll need to arrive 15 mins before the start time to enable course to start promptly.

Cost: £15 – this is a considerable subsidy on the full cost of the course.
