The latest issue of the British Rowing HRSA’s monthly report is out and available here. Amongst a number of incidents it reports on another serious medical incident arising from indoor rowing. Under the current circumstances many more people are on machines and separate, helpful advice has been issued also available from this page.
Following discussion at National Coaching Committee, British Rowing have confirmed that virtual courses delivered by UK Coaching will be acceptable qualifications . It would be good for coaches to make use of the current time to refresh their certification.
UK Coaching is rolling out these courses every few days in the coming weeks. The first ones are on 4th and 6th April.
The courses take place in a virtual webex classroom and last about 2 hours. The cost is £30. Link to their course booking is here.
Sport England is making up to £195 million of funding available to help the sport and physical activity sector through the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis. The package includes a £20 million Community Emergency Fund, which is now open for clubs and community organisations to bid into. Grants between £300 and £10,000 are available.
